I can't believe it, but I think I may be even more awesome than I assert in the previous post, only on a different awesomeness meter. More Domestic Duties than Diamond Dave. Today the man and I:

*slept in
*made French toast and Denver scramble
*took a long walk in the sunshine
*found a beautiful but functional new-with-tags professional jacket at a yard sale for Yesterday's Ester, who just finished grad school (yay!)
*bought groceries at the lovely new Trader Joe's in Rockridge, as well as the fifth and sixth circles of hell (and we didn't wish death upon anyone!)
*finished Christmas shopping (pat us on the back, almost all local) and making some sweet homemade gifties
*did laundry
*called our mothers
*cooked dinner (okay, the soup was canned...)
*went to TWO parties on different sides of the Bay, mingled, and drank champagne, AND...
*got home by 11:30 pm

Oh my god, we RULE!

I finished principle photography in a movie I'm starring in. But it's a secret, so I can't write about it on my own blog.

Then we had a little wrap party in the afternoon, and now I'm feeling quite sleepy.

WHHHHAAAAAT?

:O

Why a secret? Are they ashamed of you? ;)

Okay, I guess I accept that I must wait until you are free to share. But in the meantime: Congratulations!

Still waiting to hear about your first concert, BTW.

french toast and shopping! wheeee!

sigh, wish I were there but HCMC around Christmas is wild crazy fun, too. I will figure out how to post photos tomorrow or Wednesday (I have to teach TWO classes tomorrow) so you can bear witness to the madness which is SE Asia on a shopping high. Must go rent a motorbike.

My first concert was being dragged along to see ZZ Top on the later stages of the ELIMINATOR tour at the RDS Dublin by my big sister and her boyfriend (now, my brother-in-law). It was 1985, and I was very young (14). Still have the programme thingy in the attic. My brother-in-law bought a t-shirt (long sinced trashed) with a design of the three dudes doing the thing with their fingers drawn by Walter Simonson, but damned if I can ever find a picture of it on Google Images. Maybe I should email Walter and ask if he has a copy.

I've never seen Def Leppard, though I've bumped into Joe Elliott a couple of times at the bar at The Vicar Street (again, Dublin). He's very tall, and very approachable.

Ooooh, ZZ Top. That's class!

Wow, Joe Elliott is tall? He looks so short! Maybe it was the grande mullet at the time.

I like hearing he's approachable. It does seem like all those guys would be nice. Well, except for the wife-beater. Anyway, that's something I think is so cool about the UK -- less celebrity obsession like over here. The fact that everyone just goes down to the pub for a pint and that's it.

Well, it was Dublin, so it's even more relaxed than the UK. There's paparazzi out the yin-yang in London, but Dublin's a special case. The same night I last bumped into Elliott in The Vicar Street (we were there to see Cheap Trick! Man does this story stay RAWK! or what?), I saw The Edge go past on his mountain bike outside. True bill! Friend of the stars, me.

Elliott loomed over me, and I'm 6'00''. So he must have been three, four inches taller than that. Probably wearing very metal cuban heels, though.

Oy, I love Cheap Trick! Southern Girls, and that duet Robin Zander did with Ann Wilson of Heart? That's what I'm talking about.

One of my online friends (who I'll actually be meeting in Feb when she visits Cali!) is a paparazzo in Londontown, and she says the same.

And BTW, duh about me lumping Dublin into the UK. I have to admit I'm easily confused by Republic vs. Northern. Apologies. So sad given my latest post.
