What super talented and really nice folks! And though they were all fabulous musicians, damn it if that young kid didn't blow everyone away on the mandolin.

Here they are in Portland, performing 'New Shoes'



They're almost done touring, but if you get a chance in the future to see Joy Kills Sorrow, I highly recommend it. In the meantime, buy their terrific record, Darkness Sure Becomes This City.

Whether extolling the virtues of giving up your seat for the elderly or infirm or simply reminding you to remember your umbrella, these posters are beautifully detailed and are typical of the Japanese tendency to do everything -- even a humble subway poster -- in a top notch fashion.

I particularly love that there are so many posters to remind drunks not to pass out on the train. Omoshiroi!
